One of my botanical illustrations of a Flamboyant tree painted in the Caribbean.
I started illustrating flowers onto wooden products such as furniture, shelving and ornaments while working for a company in the 1980's. Several years later I relocated to the USVI where I resided in an old gardener's cottage. It was here that I began to focus my attention on illustrating tropical flowering plants and trees.
Rhode Island School of Design
In 2000, I decided to enroll in a two year certificate program at the RISD for Natural Science Illustration. It was an intense two year program working late into the night on class assignments.
