The Gallery  1996 - 2000
In the summer of 1996, the Stile Gallery of Art & Design opened it's door to the bustling tourist destination of Newport, RI. 
The gallery hosted many solo and group exhibitions focusing on the local and regional artists of Rhode Island. 
It was also used as a gathering place for the community during artist's receptions, a local meeting place for a non profit community arts group and as a personal painting studio for the artist.

​Project One
​During this time, a local non-profit arts organization was formed called Project One.  The Stile Gallery of Art & Design opened it's door as a location for artists to hold meetings, drop-off and pick-up location for the artwork to be displayed and became part of the organizational team and exhibitor in the events. 
Project One held two major art events each year in the town of Newport, RI.  One consisted of over 70 local and regional artists called the Banners Project, which were displayed on light poles throughout the town.  In the fall, Project One hosted the Sculpture on the Beach event called Wind, Sea, Sky.  This event became recognized by the state of Rhode Island.

Arts Instructor

While owning and operating the Stile Gallery of Art & Design, I was offered a teaching opportunity as an art instructor for at-risk teens through a social service organization called Stopover Services of Middletown, RI.  I taught a full semester course in beginning drawing and painting.  The student's artwork would then be put on display at the Newport Art Museum, Newport, RI.  During this time, I also taught after school and summer mural workshops along with art mentoring.
I expanded my teaching to other age groups while holding beginner watercolor and drawing classes at the Coleman Arts Center in Newport, RI.
