One of my botanical illustrations of a Flamboyant Tree painted while residing in the Caribbean.
At one time I was employed by a small manufacturing company that produced hand painted products on wood such as furniture, shelving and holiday ornaments. Many of the items required painting floral designs. I left this employment years later to relocate to the USVI. It was here that I found myself living in an old gardener's cottage where I became inspired to begin illustrating tropical flowering plants and trees.
Rhode Island School of Design
At one point I realized that in order to enhance my illustrating skills, I needed to seek further education. In 2000, I enrolled in a two year Natural Science Illustration Certificate Program at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI.
